Sierra Bishop

Sierra is originally from Vancouver, BC but grew up in Bellingham, WA where the love for winter and powder skiing with the North Cascades as a backyard playground really took hold. After a quick stint working in engineering out of college, a new perspective on snow as a material and wanting to spend work days skiing powder shifted her path to the professional avalanche industry. She now spends Northern Hemisphere winters in the greater Salt Lake area working as a pro patroller for Snowbasin Resort and as an AIARE rec avalanche course instructor and backcountry ski guide for Red River Adventures and Backcountry Pros in Salt Lake City, UT. In the off-season, Sierra splits her time chasing winter down to the Southern Hemisphere, patrolling for Craigieburn Valley Ski Field in New Zealand, and as a lead alpine guide for Upward Transitions Institute based in the North Cascades, WA.
